| Keith Brunt - Refurbishing a 5 inch gauge 0-6-0 Tank Engine |
| "Speedy" |
Speedy is based on the B.R. (W) Class 1500 Locomotive, when I purchased the engine it had been in use for quite a long time and was starting to show signs of wear. I decided to carry out the work out in two stages, but then problems with a leak on the boiler added a third stage. Stage One:- Correct some problems with the water tanks, re-pipe various supplies, move some of the controls and add more detailing. Stage two:- Renew the smokebox pipework including a new blast pipe and adding an improved radiant supaheater unit. Stage three:- Making a new boiler, which will included a new steam valve to get the steam brake working plus adding a hand brake into the linkage. |

| 2005 - Due to problems with a persistent leak in
the boiler that could not be cured without major surgery, I decided to make a new boiler (with help from several club members). |
