The Chingford & District Model Engineering Club is always looking for new members and we welcome anybody from any background and all walks of life to come to the railway and help out when they can. Our members come from a wide range of backgrounds from orthodontists to police officers and RAF veterans to engineers all of which are willing to share their expertise and experience on a wide range of topics - not just the railway! Once your a member of the club, you will be able to use all the facilities the club has including our railway, workshops and books relating to a wide range of railway and engineering related topics. In order to be accepted as a member of the Chingford and District Model Engineering Club we require you to be older than 10 years old and be willing to attend your rotas to help run the railway (about once every 5 weeks) but we are happy for you to come down whenever you want to!
As part of being a member of the club, you are entitled to many privilages only given to our members, these include:
Access to our fleet of live steam, electric and petrol locomotives at any time (given they have been appropriately trained in operating them)
